Applications for 23 certificates issued by the Revenue Department through village offices and Taluk offices can be filed at the CSCs. This is one of the major achievements under the eDistrict projects piloted all over India. The Public Grievance is ready to be implemented in Kannur. A dry run of PG is in progress now. The proposed enhancement of eDistrict in near future includes the roll out of RTI and Revenue Court Cases (RRC) modules
As part of the project implementation, a series of Awareness programmes were conducted to the citizens and peoples representatives on eDistrict. Road shows were also conducted to ensure the awareness spreading even to the interior parts of the districts.
Capacity building programmes were conducted covering more than 500 revenue officials to enable them to handle the work flow based eDistrict portal. The entire Akshaya Entrepreneurs were trained to work in the front office module of eDistrict. Handholding support Executives were deployed to sort out the field level issued faced by village officers and Akshaya Centres.
The District eGovernance Society Kannur (DeGS Kannur) is formed with District Collector as Chairman and various stake holders as its members. Presently the eDistict project implementation and maintenance is managed by this society with guidance and support from Kerala State IT Mission
The project could not be made a success in the district without the whole hearted support from District Revenue Administration, Akshaya, IT Mission, National Informatics Centre and CDIT. The apt and timely actions taken by them were valuable for the proper implementation of eDistrict in Kannur
